Reality shows have now become a routine of everyone’s daily life. They have not only covered a specific genre but have provided a wide range of genre that appeal to various segments of the audience. From enhancing ones knowledge (Ted talks)to converting beats to express to those siting on the seats (World of dance)nevertheless bringing raw talents that emerge to become rising stars(The Voice) and introducing the world of possibilities(Big Brothers).
From an editors perspective we peruse reality tv as a large platform of opportunities
to convey strong ideas and messages whereas on the other hand the known faces provide entertainment and capture the interests of the audience. Reality tv is an influential platform it can influence people to extreme heights in a positive and negative manner leading to social change. Reality tv is growing faster and faster day by day creating a want and an addiction to its users using different techniques like introducing high point dramas to social messages and through real life stories as well as promoting different types of talents . Reality tv is the future role model of the young generation who get inspired from it and as editors we need to be cautious about the censorship, so that the negative values do not form the part of the program . But now it’s all up to us on what should be portrayed and how should it be portrayed because one wrong move can bring detours in the lives of many.
