School is our second home for quite obvious reasons. Friends are like siblings, teachers take the place of adults in the house, and well, the studies are quite like household chores. Don’t you agree?
School events come and go, however, some of them leave a mark on us. Quite often it is hard to choose, but this time the choice was clear. It was the IMG trip in February that truly captured our hearts.
‘’We had been eagerly waiting for this opportunity,’’ said the students. “With weekly tests and mounds of homework this is the time we can forget everything and enjoy ourselves to the fullest,” they quoted. The trip was organised for the students of Years 8, 9 and 10, and it was due to take place on Thursday, 8th Feb. As the much awaited day finally came, students bobbed around the corridors, and murmured excitedly among themselves. After a refreshing morning march past practice, everyone was ready to leave. The bus trips were truly an engaging experience where students blasted music and sang along to the lyrics. After all, it was a day dedicated entirely to the students. As the buses neared the theme park, people pointed out to the roller coaster tracks and hurriedly started planning their visit. At the theme park, the students favourites included; Thor thunder spin, Predator, Power Puff Girls and the Velociraptor. Some, did several rounds of each of these and hence resulted in many students to get really dizzy and knocked out, but they were taken care of by the expert medical facilities at IMG. Other students, including myself did not feel the need to try out these rides, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, nevertheless. At the end of the day, it was all smiles and goodbyes to the wonderful friends they had made that day. It was truly an engaging trip and was one, none of us would forget!
